Father Poisons Four Children, Three Dead in Bhojpur Tragedy
Ara/Patna: A man in Bhojpur district allegedly poisoned his four children before consuming poison himself in a shocking incident that unfolded in Belvania village, Bihiya. Three of the children have died, while the father and one son are undergoing treatment in critical condition.
The accused, identified as Arvind Kumar, is believed to have been suffering from depression following the death of his wife around eight months ago. According to police sources, on Tuesday night, he first prepared puri—his children’s favourite meal—and fed them. Later, he allegedly mixed poison in their milk before consuming it himself.
The deceased children have been identified as Nandini Kumari (13), Palak Kumari (5), and Tony Kumar (7). The lone surviving child, Adarsh Kumar (10), is receiving treatment along with his father at a private hospital in Babu Bazar, Ara.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances leading to the incident, with preliminary reports suggesting prolonged distress over his wife’s passing as a possible motive.
