Congress Leader’s Son Accused of Spreading Caste Hatred Online, FIR Lodged in Patna

Patna: A case has been filed against Akash Kumar Singh, son of former Bihar Congress president Akhilesh Singh, for allegedly sharing inflammatory and caste-based content on social media following a recent incident of violence in Siwan district. The FIR, registered on July 13 at the Patna cyber police station, accuses Singh of attempting to incite communal tension and glorify criminals involved in a recent murder case.

The complaint was lodged by Manish Kumar Singh, spokesperson for the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) and a resident of New Mithila Colony in Patna’s Digha area. He alleged that Akash Singh, a former MP candidate from Maharajganj and resident of Pataliputra Colony, has been spreading misleading and provocative posts across platforms such as Facebook, WhatsApp, and X (formerly Twitter).

The posts reportedly relate to a brutal mass murder that took place on July 4 at Malmaliya Chowk in Siwan. According to the complaint, Singh and several unnamed individuals have been sharing content that not only distorts facts but also fuels caste-based division, threatenyus public safety, and glorifies the alleged perpetrators by highlighting their caste identity.

The FIR states that such content is fostering social hostility and intimidation, with threats also being issued to individuals who have shown support for the victims. The complainant warned that this could lead to a serious breakdown in law and order.
