Fire breaks out at tanishq showroom in Ara, weeks after Rs 10 crore robbery.

Ara / Patna : A fire broke out at a Tanishq jewellery showroom in Ara, on Monday, just 22 days after the store was targeted in a daring robbery that saw thieves make off with jewellery worth Rs 10 crore. The fire, which is believed to have started in the showroom’s generator on the ground floor, prompted a swift response from local authorities.

Around noon, when the showroom was busy with staff and customers, the blaze ignited, causing panic. However, all those present managed to evacuate the building without injury. Firefighters arrived at the scene shortly after and worked to contain the flames. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, with authorities exploring whether it may be linked to the previous robbery.

The earlier heist, which took place on March 10, saw a group of armed robbers posing as customers storm the showroom. Overpowering the staff and security personnel, the assailants made off with a significant amount of jewellery, valued at Rs 10 crore. The local police responded swiftly, apprehending two suspects in a matter of hours, and recovering a portion of the stolen goods.

This second incident has raised questions about the security of jewellery stores in the region, with authorities now examining whether there is any connection between the robbery and the fire. The Tanishq showroom remains closed as investigations continue, with both the police and fire officials working to assess the full scale of the damage.
