Former IPS Officer Shivdeep Lande Launches ‘Connect with Shivdeep’ App, Hints at Future Plans

Patna: Former Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Shivdeep Wamanrao Lande held a press conference in Patna on Friday, where he launched the Connect with Shivdeep app. His wife, Mamta, was also present at the event. Lande announced that the app, designed for public engagement, would be available on the Google Play Store from today.

Addressing speculation about his potential entry into politics, Lande remained non-committal. “Before March 4, I will go to the ground, meet the youth, and then make a decision,” he said.

‘Bihar Is My Karmabhoomi’

During the 30-minute press conference, Lande spoke about his deep connection to Bihar. “I had many options, including joining the CBI, but my mind was restless. I was born in Maharashtra, but Bihar gave me my identity. This state has been my karmabhoomi,” he said.

Lande also shared how his decision to resign from service was supported by his family. “When I told my mother that I wanted to do something for the youth of Bihar, she supported me. My wife also stood by me. With their consent, I resigned.”

‘My Skin Has Become Khaki’

Lande emphasized his commitment to public service despite leaving the police force. “I receive thousands of messages every day—people want to meet me, share their pain and struggles. That made me realize I need to go among them. I will meet the youth,” he said.

While he no longer wears the uniform, Lande insisted his sense of duty remains unchanged. “I have left khaki, but khaki is still inside me. I may not wear the uniform, but my skin has become khaki,” he remarked.

Plans to Begin Public Engagement from Munger

Lande announced that his outreach efforts would begin from Munger, where he first served as an IPS officer. “My career started in Munger, so my next step will also begin there. From March 4, I will start meeting the youth of Munger,” he said.

He also underscored his commitment to unbiased service. “Throughout my career, I have only seen humanity. Religion and caste have never been factors for me. When I was in service, I listened to people’s grievances directly, not through any intermediaries,” he said.

With his latest initiative and growing public interactions, Lande’s future course—whether in politics or another avenue of public service—remains a subject of keen interest.
