Former IPS Shivdeep Lande Urges Bihar’s Youth to Lead Change, Highlights Need for Education and Industrial Growth

Rohtas / Patna : Shivdeep Lande, the former IPS officer known for his fearless image and public service, has embarked on a mission to bring about a positive transformation in Bihar. Speaking passionately during his ongoing ‘Run for Self’ campaign, Lande expressed his commitment to repaying the “debt of the soil of Bihar” and urged the youth to awaken from their slumber, insisting that true change can only come when the younger generation takes charge.
A Call to Action for Bihar’s Youth
During his visit to Rohtas on Monday, Shivdeep Lande stressed the importance of education and active participation of the youth in shaping the future of Bihar. “Until our youth are educated, a developed Bihar cannot be imagined,” he remarked, while addressing a group of students preparing for civil and government examinations at the Chanakya Quiz and Library in Rasulpur. Lande encouraged them to pursue their dreams with determination, highlighting that progress is only possible when young minds are empowered.
Inspection of Aswani River Reservoir and Local Concerns
Shivdeep Lande’s campaign, which has seen him traverse 13 districts so far, also took him to the under-construction Aswani river reservoir near Madha Kodiari in the Kaimur hills. Engaging with local villagers and farmers, he learned of the acute water crisis plaguing the region. Villagers lamented that they are often forced to migrate during summer due to a lack of drinking water. They expressed hope that the completion of the reservoir would provide year-round access to drinking water and irrigation facilities.
Addressing Industrial Stagnation and Migration
Former IPS Shivdeep, who once served as Superintendent of Police (SP) in Rohtas, reflected on the region’s challenges, acknowledging that despite some progress, development remains incomplete. He underscored the need for industrial growth to curb migration and generate employment in Bihar. “Migration will not stop until employment opportunities are created. Bihar has immense potential for agriculture-based industries. It was once known for its sugar mills, but today not a single one is operational,” he lamented.
Drawing a comparison with Maharashtra, where sugar mills are found every 12 kilometers, Lande stressed that reviving industries in Bihar is essential to create local opportunities and prevent the exodus of its youth in search of livelihoods.
Bihar Needs Collective Efforts to Move Forward
Speaking to the media, Shivdeep Lande emphasised that transforming Bihar is not a task for one individual alone. “To take Bihar forward on the path of development, everyone must rise above politics and casteism. A united effort is required where every section of society contributes with positive thinking and strong willpower,” he said.
During his visit, Former IPS Shivdeep also interacted with students and teachers at the Space Science Laboratory of Tilauthu High School and later toured the Dalmia Nagar Industrial Complex, underscoring the untapped potential for growth and development.
A Mission to Inspire and Empower
“I have set out to repay the debt of the soil of Bihar,” Former IPS Shivdeep reiterated. “Dedication, honesty, and collective efforts are necessary to bring change. If we all work together, Bihar can have a bright future.”
