
Buxar/ Patna: Four people, including a child, were killed and several others injured in a road accident in the early hours of Sunday in Bihar’s Buxar district. The crash occurred near the toll plaza on National Highway 922 in the Industrial Police Station area.
According to police, the victims were travelling in a car from Shivpur Halt under Vikramganj police station in Rohtas district. They were on their way to Buxar Muktidham to attend the funeral of a woman when their vehicle collided with a trailer truck parked on the roadside. The car, reportedly moving at high speed, rammed into the rear of the stationary truck around 2.30am.
The deceased have been identified as Pramod Kumar Singh (45), Pappu Singh (30), and Ritesh Singh (16). The fourth victim, a child, succumbed to injuries during treatment, though their identity is yet to be confirmed.
Local residents and police personnel worked together to pull out those trapped in the mangled vehicle. The injured were rushed to Sadar Hospital in Buxar for initial treatment, from where they were referred to a hospital in Varanasi due to the severity of their injuries.
Police officials have initiated an investigation into the incident and are examining whether negligence or road conditions contributed to the crash. The trailer truck involved in the accident was reportedly parked without proper warning signals.
