Fourth COVID-19 Case Detected in Bihar, 10-Year-Old Girl Tests Positive in Sasaram
SASARAM: The Health Department in Bihar has confirmed the identification of the fourth COVID-19 case in the state, with the infection found in Sasaram, located outside the capital. The department revealed that a 10-year-old girl has tested positive for the virus.
This recent case comes after a hiatus, as the last reported infections in Patna occurred on December 21. Among the two cases identified in Patna, one individual had recently returned from a trip to Kerala, while the other had traveled back from Assam. Subsequently, the third case was reported in Patna on the following Sunday.
The Health Department’s official information indicates that the 10-year-old girl in Sasaram, originally from Nokha, is currently admitted to Narayana Medical College Hospital, Sasaram.
Sources revealed that the girl had attended a family function in Imamganj Sherghati, Gaya, where relatives from Asansol were also present. Following the event, the girl’s health deteriorated, leading to a COVID-19 confirmation after investigation. Notably, other members of her family remain in good health.
The state is witnessing a gradual expansion of COVID-19 testing, with 3,800 tests conducted in the last 24 hours, resulting in the confirmation of one new infection. The health authorities continue to monitor and respond to the evolving situation to curb the spread of the virus in Bihar.
