Patna: In a fresh boost to the state’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, the Bihar Department of Information Technology on Monday allotted free office space to ten emerging start-ups under the state’s ambitious IT Policy 2024. The move is part of a broader push to support young entrepreneurs and drive employment through innovation.
At a ceremonial event held at Patna’s Biscomaun Tower, IT Minister Krishan Kumar Mantu handed over keys to office units on the tower’s 9th and 13th floors, which will be rent-free for a minimum of six months. The space allocation comes with a host of other incentives including capital investment support, interest subsidies, lease rental concessions, and electricity bill waivers.
“We are committed to creating a robust start-up ecosystem in Bihar,” said Minister Mantu. “Our goal is to empower youth through opportunity, and these spaces represent more than infrastructure—they symbolise the government’s belief in the potential of homegrown innovation.”
The minister also revealed that Bihar’s revamped IT Policy has already attracted investment proposals worth Rs 4,000 crore, underlining the state’s growing appeal as a destination for technology-driven enterprises.
The ten start-ups selected for the scheme include Highprotech India Technology Pvt Ltd, Green Stark Electronics Pvt Ltd, Flow APIs Pvt Ltd, SevaCity Technology Pvt Ltd, Skas Technologies Pvt Ltd, Austomverse Innovation Pvt Ltd, Momentum Plus Online Technology, Polytropic System Pvt Ltd, Makasa Industries Pvt Ltd, and HPF Venture India Pvt Ltd.
IT Department Secretary Abhay Kumar Singh said that the performance of each start-up will be reviewed after six months to determine eligibility for continued support. He added that Biscomaun Tower is rapidly emerging as Bihar’s first state-of-the-art IT park, with 13 other start-ups already operating from the location.
These companies benefit not only from free office space, but also essential amenities including high-speed internet, air conditioning, reception and housekeeping services, vehicle parking, and cafeteria access—designed to provide an enabling environment for early-stage ventures to thrive.
As Bihar positions itself as a start-up hub in eastern India, the state’s blend of policy support, infrastructure, and ambition is creating fertile ground for ideas to grow—and jobs to follow.
