Patna : The price of gold in Patna rose sharply on Monday, with 24-karat gold being sold at Rs9,556 per gram. The price for 22-karat gold stood at Rs8,760 per gram, while 18-karat gold (commonly referred to as 999 gold) was priced at Rs7,168 per gram.

This upward trend in gold prices comes amid increasing global demand and rising geopolitical tensions, which often push investors toward the safe-haven asset. Patna, being the capital of Bihar and one of the key regional markets for gold in eastern India, has witnessed a steady demand for the precious metal.

Jewelers across the city reported consistent footfall ahead of the upcoming wedding and festive season, a time when purchases of gold ornaments traditionally peak. “There has been a visible increase in customer inquiries and bookings, especially for 22-karat jewelry,” said a local gold trader in the city.

Experts advise potential buyers to keep a close watch on live gold rates in Patna before making any purchase, given the daily fluctuations. Factors such as international gold rates, the strength of the Indian rupee, and local taxes significantly impact retail prices.

With global markets expected to remain volatile, analysts predict that gold could see further appreciation in the coming weeks. Consumers in Patna are therefore being urged to make well-informed buying decisions to get the best value for their investment.
