Hand Grenade Found Near Bihar’s Maitri Bridge Sparks Security Alert

A grenade found by children near the Indo-Nepal border in Bihar has triggered fears of a conspiracy and led to a major security operation.

Raxaul: A hand grenade was found on Wednesday near the Maitri Bridge on the Indo-Nepal border in Bihar, causing panic and raising serious security concerns. The explosive device was discovered by two children who were bathing in the Sariswa river. They picked it up while playing and brought it near an SSB (Sashastra Seema Bal) post, where jawans immediately noticed it and took action.

Raxaul DSP Dhirendra Kumar confirmed that the children were playing with the grenade near the SSB post when the jawans safely recovered it. The area around the river has now been sealed, and police are conducting a search to make sure there are no more explosives in the area.

SSB Commandant Sanjay Pandey visited the site and said that the incident is being taken very seriously. A bomb disposal team from Muzaffarpur has been called in to safely defuse the grenade and find out whether it is still active. Investigators are also questioning suspects in the area to understand where the grenade came from and whether it was part of a bigger plan.

After the incident, security on the Indo-Nepal border has been increased. Police and SSB patrols have been strengthened to ensure safety. Officials are also looking into whether there was a plan to attack the bridge or the SSB post. The investigation is still ongoing.
