Haryana EOU Raids in Patna: Search for Cyber Criminals Behind Rs. 50 Lakh Fraud

Patna: The Haryana Economic Offenses Unit (EOU) is intensifying its raids in Patna to apprehend two cyber criminals accused of defrauding youths from Delhi and Haryana of over Rs. 50 lakh.

A five-member team from the EOU has been conducting searches in various areas of Patna with assistance from the local Pirbahor and Kadamkuan police. The investigation has identified the two suspects as Roshan Sinha alias Rajesh, a resident of GM Road, and Krishna Kanhaiya alias Kamal, a resident of Lohanipur. Despite raids at their residences, both suspects managed to escape, and their family members have been questioned.

The kingpin, Hemnarayan Tiwari, a resident of Barh in Patna, was arrested earlier by the Haryana police. Hemnarayan had moved to Delhi in 2015 to study journalism but became involved in cyber fraud after connecting with other criminals. During his time in Delhi, he partnered with Roshan Sinha and Krishna Kanhaiya, and together, they began deceiving people by promising jobs in the Indian Army, paramilitary forces, and railways.

One of their victims, Dilbagh from Hansi district in Haryana, was lured with the promise of a job for himself and his brother. Hemnarayan extracted Rs. 12 lakh from him. Investigations revealed that the group had conned more than a dozen individuals.

The Haryana EOU team is not limiting its operation to Bihar. Raids are also being conducted in Orissa and Jharkhand to track down the suspects. Despite their escape, efforts are ongoing in and around Patna to arrest Roshan Sinha and Krishna Kanhaiya. The authorities are determined to bring the culprits to justice and recover the defrauded money.
