Health Minister Mangal Pandey Wears Shoe Cover on Head During Begusarai Hospital Visit, Sparks Online Reactions
Begusarai: Health Minister Mangal Pandey has found himself at the center of online discussions after photos surfaced of him wearing a shoe cover on his head during a visit to Begusarai Sadar Hospital.
The incident occurred two days ago, during Pandey’s visit to inaugurate a Blood Separator Unit and a TB Center. The images, shared by the Minister on his social media platform X, show him with a shoe cover on his head instead of the required surgical cap, while hospital staff beside him wore the correct gear.
The photo quickly went viral, drawing a flood of reactions from social media users. One user, Nandan Kumar, remarked, “You have been crowned with a plastic that is worn on the feet.” Another, DRS Kiran Dev Kumar, quipped, “Who played such a joke with the minister in Begusarai?” Lalu Yadav’s daughter, Rohini Acharya, also weighed in, sharing a news link with a satirical comment that Pandey’s subordinates gave him what he deserved.
Pandey’s hospital visit took place on October 19, following a meeting at the Collectorate. During his visit, he inspected the ICU and launched the blood separator machine. According to hospital protocol, all visitors were required to wear a surgical head cap, but the mix-up involving the shoe cover has now become a source of public ridicule.
The Civil Surgeon and hospital staff have declined to comment on the matter. However, an anonymous doctor described the incident as a “disgusting joke” within the health department, highlighting broader concerns about the hospital’s functioning.
