Patna: As the summer heat becomes more intense in Bihar, the Animal Husbandry Directorate has made an important appeal to the public. The department is asking people to help animals and birds who are struggling to find drinking water. Due to rising temperatures, drying ponds, and less greenery, many birds and animals are suffering from thirst.
An official advertisement from the department says that providing drinking water to birds and animals is very important in this season. While people stay cool under fans and in air-conditioned rooms, these mute creatures are often left without water. With just a little effort, people can make a big difference and save many lives.
The department says that many birds faint or die due to lack of water. People are encouraged to keep small pots filled with water on their rooftops, balconies, and near gardens or fences. Adding a small amount of jaggery to the water can help birds stay healthy, as it provides energy and minerals that are lost in the heat.
The government also suggests using coconut shells to serve water, which is a good way to reuse waste materials. People should avoid polluting water sources and try to provide shade for birds whenever possible. These simple steps can go a long way in helping animals and birds survive the hot summer months.
