High Stakes as Bihar Votes in Last Phase of Lok Sabha Elections
Patna: The seventh and final phase of the Lok Sabha elections on Saturday will see voters casting their ballots in eight key constituencies of Bihar, including Patna Sahib, Pataliputra, Ara, Buxar, Jehanabad, Nalanda, Karakat, and Sasaram. The fate of several prominent candidates, including two Union Ministers, will be decided as the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) seal their destinies today.
Among the notable candidates, former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad is contesting from Patna Sahib on a BJP ticket, facing off against Congress candidate Dr. Anshul Avijit from the INDIA alliance. In Pataliputra, the RJD’s Misa Bharti is competing against BJP’s Ramkripal Yadav.
In Nalanda, CPI(ML) has fielded MLA Sandeep Saurabh from Paliganj as part of the Grand Alliance. Jehanabad sees RJD’s Surendra Yadav vying against JDU’s Chandeshwar Prasad Chandravanshi. From Ara, BJP’s RK Singh faces off against CPI(ML)’s Sudama Prasad. Buxar features a contest between RJD’s Sudhakar Singh and BJP’s Mithilesh Tiwari. In Karakat, Union Minister Pawan Singh and Upendra Kushwaha from RLM are up against CPI(ML)’s Rajaram Singh. Lastly, in Sasaram, BJP has placed its confidence in Shivesh Ram.
To ensure a smooth and secure voting process, maximum security measures have been implemented. Approximately one lakh security and police personnel have been deployed to oversee the election proceedings in these eight constituencies.
Voting under these stringent security arrangements will mark the concluding phase of the two-month-long electoral process, determining the representatives for these critical seats.
