IIM Bodh Gaya Concludes Six-Day Management Development Programme for BAMETI Officials
Bodh Gaya: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bodh Gaya, in partnership with the Bihar Agriculture Management & Extension Training Institute (BAMETI), has successfully completed a six-day Management Development Programme (MDP) aimed at improving leadership and management skills among state agricultural officials. The programme concluded on 14 September 2024.
The MDP was attended by 30 officials from various roles and regions within Bihar, including deputy project directors, sub-divisional agriculture officers, and assistant directors from departments such as plant protection, horticulture, and agriculture engineering. Although many of the participants were from the Patna region, officials from districts including Begusarai, Jamui, Muzaffarpur, Jehnabad, Vaishali, and Nawada also took part.
Participants received intensive training on key topics such as organisational behaviour, marketing, project management, and financial management. These sessions were tailored to address the specific challenges faced by agriculture officials, using interactive case studies and discussions. As part of the programme, participants also visited the Mahabodhi Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site in Bodh Gaya, during an outbound session.
BAMETI, an autonomous institution, focuses on providing need-based training to project implementation officials and the farming community. It collaborates with state-level technical and management institutions to develop the necessary skills to support agriculture projects. The institute operates under the technical guidance of the National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management.
This collaboration between IIM Bodh Gaya and BAMETI reflects the institute’s commitment to enhancing leadership and management capacity within Bihar’s agriculture sector. IIM Bodh Gaya has also provided similar leadership and management training programmes for various Bihar government departments, including the Water Resource Department, State Health Society, Bihar Police Academy, and the Department of Industries.
