IIM Bodh Gaya hosts 7th International Conference on Data Analytics and Cyber Security
Bodh Gaya: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bodh Gaya successfully hosted the 7th International Conference on Data Analytics and Cyber Security (DACS 2024), bringing together global leaders from academia, research, and industry. The three-day conference, held in Bodh Gaya, focused on the latest advancements in data analytics and cyber security, emphasizing the practical implications of secure and efficient data management systems.
Strong global and national participation
The conference drew an enthusiastic response, with over 190 research papers submitted. Of these, 64 were selected for presentation across 11 technical tracks, fostering in-depth discussions and the exchange of innovative ideas.
Participation came from renowned institutions across India, including IITs, NITs, IIITs, Central Universities, IISERs, and TISS. International institutions also featured prominently, with representation from the University of Aberdeen and Newcastle University (UK), the University of North Texas, University of Texas, Wayne State University, and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (USA), Nanjing University (China), University of Technology Sydney and Macquarie University (Australia), and Umeå University (Sweden). Contributions also came from institutions in the UAE, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Bahrain.
Keynote addresses and panel discussions
The conference opened with an inaugural session led by Dr. Vinita Sahai, Director of IIM Bodh Gaya, who underscored the importance of research in shaping secure, data-driven systems. Conference conveners Dr. Deepak Puthal and Dr. Samant Saurabh followed with introductory remarks.
Day one featured two keynote addresses by Prof. Sanjay K. Madria from Missouri University of Science and Technology, USA, and Prof. Prabin Kumar Panigrahi from IIM Indore, India.
On the second day, keynote sessions were delivered by Prof. Pradeep Sharma from the University of Aberdeen, UK, and Prof. Nitin Singh from IIM Ranchi, India. The highlight of the day was a panel discussion titled “Future of Information Management: A Data-Driven and Secure Approach,” moderated by the conveners. Esteemed panelists included Prof. Panigrahi (IIM Indore), Prof. Singh (IIM Ranchi), Prof. Madan Lal Yadav (IIM Bodh Gaya), Prof. Baudhayan Ganguly (IIM Bodh Gaya), and Prof. Sharma (University of Aberdeen).
The day concluded with a cultural evening celebrating India’s heritage and diversity.
Valedictory session and awards
The final day saw keynote speeches by Prof. Somnath Tripathi from IIT Patna and Prof. Prabhat Kumar from NIT Patna. The conference ended with a valedictory session that recognized outstanding contributions through awards for the best papers.
