IIM Bodh Gaya’s 6th Annual Convocation Sees 245 MBA Graduates Celebrate Achievement
Bodhgaya: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bodh Gaya marked a significant milestone as it hosted its 6th Annual Convocation on April 7, conferring degrees upon 245 graduating students. The esteemed event welcomed the Honorable Vice-President of India, Jagdeep Dhankhar, as the Chief Guest, accompanied by his spouse, Dr. Sudesh Dhankhar.
The ceremony commenced with a gracious welcome address by Uday Kotak, Chairperson of the Board of Governors at IIM Bodh Gaya. Kotak eloquently traced the institute’s inception in 2015, underscoring its evolution into one of the top 5 IIMs nationwide in terms of student enrollment. Reflecting on the institute’s journey, Kotak emphasized the collective effort in translating the government’s vision into reality, saying, “we were given a challenge and an opportunity, and we took it up with all the board members, getting together and turning the government’s vision into reality.”
Dr. Vinita Singh Sahay, Director of IIM Bodh Gaya, presented the Annual Report for the academic year 2022-2023, spotlighting the institute’s remarkable achievements and the inauguration of state-of-the-art infrastructural developments. Dr. Sahay lauded the competitive spirit of IIM Bodh Gaya’s students, noting their instrumental role in securing the institution’s position in the “Top 10 B-Schools” by Unstop. She further highlighted the milestone of achieving 100% placement for the graduating batch.
The Chief Guest, Vice- President Jagdeep Dhankhar, bestowed Scholastic Medals and degrees upon the graduating students. The recipients of the prestigious medals included Amardyuti Basu, Deepak Sharma, and Sujit Anil Chaubey, who were awarded the Chairman’s, Director’s, and IIM Bodh Gaya’s gold medals for their outstanding academic performance, respectively. Addressing the graduates, Vice- President Dhankhar underscored the paramount importance of upholding democratic principles and emphasized the transformative power of education in propelling societal change.
The distinguished presence of Bihar Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, and Amitabh Kant, India’s G20 Sherpa and former CEO of NITI Ayog, added gravitas to the occasion. The convocation reached its conclusion with closing remarks from Uday Kotak, who expressed his profound pride in the graduating cohort and their potential to catalyze the nation’s progress.
