Patna: The Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at IIT Patna hosted the third edition of its annual technical symposium, DRAVYA 2025, offering a vibrant forum for academic exchange and innovation in materials science and engineering.

The event began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony led by Director Prof T N Singh, Associate Dean of R&D Dr Anup Kumar Keshri, Head of Department Dr Tamoghna Chakrabarti, and other dignitaries. The inauguration also saw the release of the official symposium souvenir. Dr Nitish Raja and Dr Sandan Kumar Sharma served as Convener and Co-Convener, respectively.

Highlighting the symposium were expert lectures by prominent academics. Prof Shashank Shekhar from IIT Kanpur delivered a session on “EBSD: Fundamentals and Applications,” focusing on electron backscatter diffraction as a tool for microstructural analysis. Dr Akhilendra Singh of IIT Patna followed with an in-depth presentation on the “Design of Adhesively Bonded Joints: A Fracture Mechanics Approach,” exploring structural integrity in materials joining.

Participants included final-year PhD, MTech, and BTech students, who presented their research through oral and poster sessions, fostering active scholarly engagement and peer learning.
