Indian Railways Chief Reviews Safety Measures in High-Level Meeting

Hajipur: Indian Railways’ top leadership has undertaken a comprehensive review of the network’s safety measures, focusing on key operational and infrastructural concerns. Satish Kumar, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Railway Board, led the discussions via video conference, bringing together senior officials from across the railway system.
The meeting was attended by Railway Board members, general managers of regional railways, department heads, and divisional railway managers from across the country. Discussions centered on critical safety issues, including automated signaling, working hours of track staff, yard remodeling, and disaster management preparedness.
Satish Kumar emphasized the need for a structured and proactive approach, directing officials to implement a fortnightly safety action plan with regular reviews.
Among the key participants was Chatrasal Singh, General Manager of East Central Railway, who joined along with department heads from the zone’s headquarters. Divisional Railway Managers from all five divisions also took part, reinforcing the railway’s commitment to prioritizing safety across its vast network.
