Interdisciplinary Competition Marks International Commerce Day at Patna Women’s College
Patna: The Department of Commerce at Patna Women’s College (PWC) organized an Interdisciplinary PowerPoint Presentation Competition in observance of International Commerce Day on Monday. The event took place at 12.15 pm within the Mother Veronica Excellence and Innovation Cell, engaging students from various commerce-related programs.
International Commerce Day, celebrated annually, emphasizes the significance of global trade in driving economic growth, fostering cultural exchange, and enhancing global cooperation. This year’s focus was on sustainable business practices, highlighting their crucial role in addressing the world’s environmental and social challenges.
Dr. Soofia Fatima, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Management and Head of the Department of Commerce, delivered the inaugural address. She underscored the importance of sustainability in shaping the future of international commerce.
The competition featured presentations from students of B. Com (Accounting & Finance), B.Com (Commerce Professional), BBA, and Advertising and Marketing Management. The judging panel included Kirti Kamal, Sagarika, and Neha Kumari Gupta, all Assistant Professors from the Department of Commerce. Students presented insightful information on sustainable business practices, receiving valuable feedback from the judges.
The winners of the competition were celebrated for their exceptional presentations. First place was awarded to Shreya Singh, Faiza Monawwur, and Ritu Kumari, students of B.Com (Accounting & Finance), Semester-III. The second place was secured by Nikita Anand, Pinki Kumari, and Tapsi from the BBA program. Third place went to Suhani, Prachi, and Aliba, students of B.Com (Accounting & Finance), Semester-I.
Vaishnavi Raj, a student of B.Com (Accounting & Finance), Semester-I, proposed the vote of thanks. The event was also graced by the presence of CS Shweta Shah, Puja Kumari, Nikki Kumari, Gautam Saurabh, and Sohini Priya, who encouraged the participating students.
