CIMP to Host Workshop to Drive Local Action on Global Sustainable Development Goals

Patna: The Chandragupt Institute of Management Patna (CIMP), in collaboration with Georgia State University, Atlanta, USA, is set to host the “2nd International Conference on Public Policy and Management (ICPPM) 2024” on June 17 and 18, at the CIMP campus at Patna. This significant event will focus on the theme ‘Promoting Good Governance and Local Development in Bihar and Beyond: The Latest Scholarship and Practice.’

The conference aims to bring together leading academics, policymakers, government officials, development practitioners, and civil society representatives to discuss and explore innovative strategies and best practices in governance and local development. The event will be inaugurated by Bihar Chief Secretary Brijesh Mehrotra, with Dr. S. Siddhartha, Additional Chief Secretary of the Education Department, as the chief guest for the valedictory session.

The conference highlights several key events and discussions aimed at fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange.

Firstly, Georgia State University and CIMP have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to boost collaboration across teaching, research, training, and student and faculty exchanges.

The inaugural session, presided over by Hon. Chief Secretary Brijesh Mehrotra, will feature Prof. Charles Hankla from Georgia State University and Prof. Anjali Thomas from the Georgia Institute of Technology as key speakers.

Expert panel discussions will cover significant topics such as governance insights from Bihar, featuring a distinguished panel including representatives from UNICEF, district magistrates, and grassroots leaders.

Another panel will delve into entrepreneurship in Bihar, addressing emerging trends and challenges with speakers from various innovative startups and organizations.

The conference will also showcase empirical research papers from scholars in India and abroad, highlighting novel approaches to governance and local development.

A special address Dr. S. Siddhartha, Additional Chief Secretary (education), is anticipated.

Lastly, the event will provide ample networking opportunities, encouraging participants to form partnerships and collaborative efforts aimed at promoting good governance and sustainable development.
