International Student and Lab Staff from Central University of South Bihar Presents Research Paper at Indian Science Conference

Gaya, 4th January 2024: May Thu Win, an international student at the Central University of South Bihar (CUSB), showcased her research paper at the Indian Science Conference held in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

Mohd. Mudassir Alam, the Public Relations Officer (PRO), informed that May Thu Win, hailing from Myanmar, is currently conducting research under the supervision of Prof. Ram Kumar in the Environmental Science Department at CUSB.

She presented her work at the conference, focusing on the consequences of the excessive use of antibiotics and their seepage into lakes and ponds. She highlighted the impact of antibiotics in natural water bodies on freshwater food webs and ecosystems, emphasizing the transfer of pharmaceuticals to humans through zooplankton – the fish-human food web. Additionally, laboratory employee Amarjeet Kumar also shared his research findings during the conference, addressing the recycling of fruit waste and proposing valuable solutions for recycling.

Prof. Pradhan Sarathi, the Dean and Head of the Department of School of Earth, Biological, and Environmental Sciences, congratulated May Thu Win on her achievement. He commended the effective guidance provided by her supervisor, Prof. Ram Kumar. Other professors from the Department of Environmental Science joined in expressing their congratulations and acknowledgment of May Thu Win’s and Amarjeet’s contributions.
