IPS Shivdeep Lande Transferred to Training IG in Patna; Rakesh Rathi Appointed IG of Purnia
Patna: IPS officer Shivdeep Lande has been transferred by the Bihar government and appointed as the Training Inspector General (IG) in Patna. This change follows the transfer of Rakesh Rathi, who served as the Training IG in Patna and has now been appointed as IG of Purnia. The Home Department has confirmed these postings.
Lande, a 2006 batch IPS officer originally from Maharashtra, resigned from his position on September 19, 2024. He made the announcement via social media, stating that he had dedicated the last 18 years to serving in government positions, prioritizing Bihar above his personal interests. Prior to his resignation, Lande was transferred from Tirhut to Purnia just two weeks earlier.
During his tenure in Bihar, Lande has held significant positions, including serving as Superintendent of Police in Patna, Araria, Purnia, and Munger districts. He was particularly well-regarded for his work as SP of Patna Central, earning a reputation as a tough and effective officer.
In his resignation announcement on Facebook, Lande expressed gratitude to the people of Bihar and offered apologies for any mistakes made during his service, affirming his commitment to remaining in Bihar as his karmabhoomi.
