Jan Aushadhi Kendras to Open at 20 Stations Including Danapur

Patna: Passengers and locals near 20 stations under East Central Railway, including Danapur, Rajendra Nagar Terminal, Muzaffarpur, Bhagalpur, and Gaya, will soon benefit from affordable medicines through Jan Aushadhi Kendras. These centers will offer 1759 types of medicines at prices up to 80 percent lower than the market. The Railways has started surveying potential locations for these kendras, with the process expected to be completed within two months. Initially, the facility will be launched at A-category stations under East Central Railway.

Jan Aushadhi Kendras are part of a pilot project, with two centers already operational at Patna Junction and Darbhanga station in Bihar. The initiative aims to provide quality medicines at low prices for railway passengers and the surrounding population. Within five months, the number of centers is expected to increase, ensuring broader access to affordable healthcare products.

These centers will be licensed and strategically opened near crowded areas and stations, making them accessible to more people. The scheme is designed to improve convenience and promote health and well-being among passengers and the general public.
