Jan Shatabdi Express Attacked: Stone-Pelting Incident Injures Passengers

Gaya: A violent altercation over a reserved seat on the Jan Shatabdi Express escalated into a dangerous stone-pelting incident late on Sunday night, leaving two passengers injured and causing widespread panic. The incident occurred near the Ishwar Chaudhary Halt on the Gaya-Koderma railway section, raising serious concerns about passenger safety.
The disturbance began shortly after the train departed from Gomo when two youths occupied a reserved seat belonging to passenger Rajiv Kumar. Despite repeated requests to vacate the seat, the individuals refused, resorting to verbal abuse and threats, including a threat to shoot the entire coach. Kumar, who was travelling to Paharpur, reported the escalating hostility.
The situation took a perilous turn as the train passed Ishwar Chaudhary Halt. The miscreants disembarked and proceeded to hurl stones at the moving train. The barrage of stones shattered multiple windows, creating chaos and fear among the passengers. Two passengers sustained injuries from the flying debris.
“The sudden stone-pelting was terrifying,” stated a shaken passenger. “People were screaming, and glass was flying everywhere. It was a complete breakdown of order.”
