Jan Suraj writes to CM Nitish, demands cancellation of BPSC 70th prelims, issues ultimatum till 12 noon
Patna: Prashant Kishore’s Jan Suraj Party has issued an ultimatum to the Bihar government, demanding action on the protests surrounding the 70th BPSC preliminary examination. Party president Manoj Bharti, in a letter to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, requested a meeting with a delegation of students by 12 noon on Saturday. Bharti warned that if the government fails to act positively, the party will join the protesting candidates and march to the Chief Minister’s office.
The protests erupted after BPSC Exam Controller Rajesh Kumar declared on Friday that the 70th preliminary exam will not be cancelled under any circumstances. This announcement has further enraged the protesting candidates, who have vowed to continue their demonstrations until the entire examination is scrapped. They have also written to CM Nitish Kumar, seeking his intervention.
Meanwhile, Rajesh Kumar downplayed the protests, stating that only a small number of candidates are opposing the exam and that their allegations are baseless and unsupported by evidence. He noted that the commission has received numerous emails from candidates affirming that no irregularities occurred during the exam and accused the protesters of being “motivated.”
Kumar reiterated that the 70th BPSC combined mains exam is scheduled for April and urged candidates to stop protesting and focus on their preparation.
