Jehanabad Accident: Mini-Bus Carrying Tourists Overturns, 8 Injured, 3 Critical
Jehanabad: A mini-bus carrying tourists overturned into a ditch in Jehanabad after being hit by an unidentified truck on Wednesday morning. The accident occurred near Salempur village on the Gaya-Patna NH-83, leaving eight passengers seriously injured. All the injured have been admitted to Sadar Hospital, while three critically injured tourists have been referred to PMCH for further treatment.
The incident happened when the bus, carrying 23 people from Nepal to Bodh Gaya, was struck by a truck coming from the opposite direction, causing the driver to lose control. The vehicle then plunged into a roadside ditch following the collision. Police from Kadauna police station responded promptly and facilitated the transfer of the injured to the hospital.
The truck driver fled the scene, and police are working to gather details about the vehicle. Most of the passengers on the bus are Buddhist monks and foreign tourists, who were traveling from Patna to Bodh Gaya at the time of the accident. Legal action will be taken once the truck involved is identified.
