Patna: Jharkhand secured an 8-wicket victory over Bihar on the third day of their Cooch Behar Trophy match at the Moinul Haque Stadium in Patna. The win marked Jharkhand’s first in the tournament, while Bihar will face Rajasthan in their next match starting December 28 in Patna.
Bihar managed 154 runs in their first inning and 121 in the second, setting a modest target of 87 runs for Jharkhand. Jharkhand, after losing two early wickets, chased down the target with ease, scoring 89 for 2 in 29.2 overs. Krish Sharma remained unbeaten with 40 runs, while Vivek Kumar scored 37 not out.
Aditya Raj was Bihar’s standout performer, taking 2 wickets for 26 runs in the second innings and a total of 7 wickets in the match. However, his efforts were not enough to save Bihar from defeat. Tanish and Ishan Om also delivered impressive bowling performances for Bihar in Jharkhand’s first innings, each taking 5 wickets. Tanish ended the match with a total of 10 wickets.
Despite Bihar’s efforts, Jharkhand’s all-round performance proved superior. The match exposed weaknesses in Bihar’s batting lineup, which struggled to post competitive totals, leaving them vulnerable against a disciplined Jharkhand team.
