Jitan Ram Manjhi Alleges Lalu Yadav Expelled Tej Pratap Yadav to Shield Assets from Divorce Alimony

Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi claims Lalu Yadav expelled Tej Pratap Yadav from the family to shield assets from alimony payments following his divorce from Aishwarya Rai.

Patna: Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi has claimed that Lalu Prasad Yadav expelled his son Tej Pratap Yadav from the family to protect their movable and immovable property in the event of a divorce from Aishwarya Rai. According to Manjhi, this move is a calculated drama aimed at ensuring that Aishwarya receives no share of the family assets through alimony.

Speaking on June 4, 2025, Manjhi accused Lalu Prasad Yadav of orchestrating the expulsion to enable Tej Pratap to claim he has no property when court orders on alimony come through. He also alleged that Tej Pratap was in a live-in relationship when he married Aishwarya Rai and that she was mistreated and insulted by the family after the marriage. “Such a heinous act was done at that time; where did Lalu Prasad’s conscience go?” Manjhi said.

Manjhi further suggested that a court ruling in Aishwarya’s favour is imminent, which prompted the family’s attempt to isolate her from property claims. “They have done such a drama. It is not that Tej Pratap has been thrown out. It is a way to deny Aishwarya her rightful share,” he added.

Earlier controversies include the leak of chats involving Anushka Yadav, another woman linked to Tej Pratap, whose brother Akash Yadav has publicly called on the family to resolve disputes with respect or face revelations of inside matters.

The Lalu family has remained silent on Manjhi’s claims, and no official response has been issued. Tej Pratap has denied allegations surrounding his personal relationships, stating that his social media accounts were hacked and content was doctored.
