Joint Inspection Conducted to Address Traffic Jams on Patna-Bhojpur Route
Patna: In a bid to address the persistent traffic congestion on the Patna-Bhojpur route, officials from both districts conducted a joint inspection on Tuesday, following directives from Bihar’s Chief Secretary, Amrit Lal Meena. The focus was on improving inter-district coordination and assessing measures to control the movement of trucks in the wrong direction, a major contributor to traffic jams in the region.
The inspection team included senior representatives from the police, administration, and mining departments of both districts, including the Sub-Divisional Officer and Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Danapur, the Police Station Head and Mines Inspector of Bihta, as well as the Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Police Station Head, and District Mining Officer from Bhojpur.
During the inspection, the officials identified locations for setting up a control room and vertical height barriers to regulate truck movement on the Bihta-Koilwar road and Koilwar bridge. The control room, which will monitor traffic flow, will have representatives from the police and mining teams of both districts.
Patna’s District Magistrate Chandrashekhar Singh said that the government is committed to providing smooth transportation for its citizens and has instructed officials to devise immediate and long-term solutions for traffic management. “Ensuring smooth transport and traffic systems for the general public is the top priority of the government,” the DM said.
The inspecting team is set to submit a proposal outlining corrective measures to address the traffic issue, including the installation of barriers and enhanced monitoring mechanisms. The proposal will be reviewed for approval, with decisions expected to follow soon in the public interest.
