Patna: The Primary Wing of St Michael’s High School in Patna came alive with colour, music and emotion on Saturday as students, teachers and parents gathered to celebrate Mother’s Day in a heartfelt tribute to maternal love and resilience.
The event, held on May 10, honoured the quiet strength and unwavering presence of mothers — figures often described as the emotional bedrock of every family. The school campus echoed with warmth and laughter as students performed for their mothers and joined them in a series of interactive activities.
The celebration began with the arrival of key dignitaries, including Rector Fr Norbert Menezes, Principal Fr Christu Savarirajan, Primary School Vice-Principal Sr Magdali Beck, and High School Vice-Principal Dr Marie D’Cruz. Their presence, alongside the spirited participation of parents and children, set the tone for a day filled with affection and community spirit.
A prayer dance opened the event, followed by lively action songs, dramatic skits, poignant poetry, and energetic group dances — many of them performed by mothers and their children. The performances were infused with joy, playfulness and emotion, creating a touching atmosphere that resonated with the audience. One of the highlights of the programme was the grand finale, a dazzling display of talent and coordination that brought the crowd to its feet.
The event also included games and group activities that allowed families to bond and engage in moments of shared laughter. It was a celebration not just of mothers, but of the everyday joys that define family life.
In her closing address, Sr Magdali Beck delivered a warm vote of thanks, acknowledging the collective efforts behind the event and paying special tribute to the mothers who were at the heart of the occasion. “Your love is the soul of this celebration,” she said.
More than just a school function, the event served as a joyful reminder of the unmatched role mothers play in shaping lives, offering both comfort and courage to the next generation.
