Chhath in Abu Dhabi

Dubai: The vibrant spirit of Chhath Puja illuminated Abu Dhabi’s La Boulanger Park as the Bihar & Jharkhand Samaj, in collaboration with Bihar Foundation, prepared for a grand celebration of this cultural extravaganza.

Thousands of families hailing from Bihar, Jharkhand, and Purvanchal converged on the beach, bringing the essence of their rich culture to the heart of the UAE capital. The Chhath Puja, deeply rooted in Bihar’s culture, transcends regional boundaries, earning admiration from across India.

For many years, Abu Dhabi has been a melting pot of traditions during Chhath, with non-resident Indians from Bihar, Jharkhand, and Purvanchal finding solace in celebrating this auspicious occasion away from their native lands. Adhering to all rituals, the diaspora ensures that the Chhath Puja is observed with utmost devotion.

In a testament to community spirit, the Bihar & Jharkhand Samaj Abu Dhabi, supported by chapter president Omar Hazirjin of Bihar Foundation and Indian People Forum Art and Craft, is tirelessly organizing the event. The team worked around the clock, with a focus on providing essential puja materials to devotees and meticulously cleaning and decorating the ghat.

Dedicated individuals such as Praveen Kumar, Raju Gupta, Mrinal, Kumar Vibhakar Prasad, Satyendra Nath Gupta, Abhishek Sharma, Kumar Diwakar Prasad, Ambika Mahato Saurabh Tiwari, Kumar Abhishek, Prashant, Anil Kejriwal, Ranjit Kushwaha, Chandan Keshari, Mukesh Kumar, Vipin Srivastava, and Vivek Tiwari were instrumental in making this celebration a resounding success.
