Labour Resources Department Distributes Tool Kits and Study Kits to Support Youth Employment

Patna: In a bid to assist unemployed youth in Bihar, the Directorate of Employment under the Labor Resources Department organized a state-wide distribution of tool kits and study kits on Thursday. The initiative, aimed at promoting self-employment and enhancing job readiness, benefited around 3,000 candidates across the state.

Under the employment services expansion program, approximately 1,000 candidates, trained at recognized institutions registered with employment offices, received free tool kits tailored to their respective trades. Additionally, about 2,000 candidates preparing for competitive examinations were provided study kits containing books and resources relevant to exams such as the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC), Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC), and Railway Recruitment Board.

The event in Patna, held at the Lower Regional Employment Office, was inaugurated by Deepak Anand, Secretary of the Labor Resources Department. A total of 49 study kits and 30 tool kits were distributed at this location. Key officials, including Priyanka Kumari, Deputy Director of Planning; Shyam Prakash Shukla, Deputy Director of Patna Division; and Priyanka Verma, Assistant Director for the Special Employment Office for Divyaangs, were present during the program.

Speaking at the event, Anand emphasized the significance of the tool kits for youth trained in technical trades, enabling them to start their businesses and earn livelihoods. He highlighted the department’s efforts to bridge gaps in resources and provide necessary support to prepare candidates for government job opportunities.

“The study kits will equip candidates with essential resources for competitive exam preparation, addressing the challenge of limited access to books,” Anand said. He also shared guidance and tips for success in exams, urging the beneficiaries to utilize the resources effectively.

The program is part of Bihar’s broader strategy to address unemployment and empower its youth by connecting them with employment opportunities and fostering self-reliance.
