Lalu Prasad Addresses Govardhan Puja Program at ISKCON Patna, Takes Aim at BJP
Patna: The ISKCON temple in Patna came alive with the spirit of Govardhan Puja on Tuesday as the Shri Krishna Chetna Samiti organized a special program, inaugurated by RJD chief Lalu Prasad. The event, marked by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Lalu, commenced with the soulful bhajan of Bhai Nand Lala.
Addressing the gathered audience, Lalu drew parallels between Lord Krishna’s actions, emphasizing his role in defeating Kansa and ensuring justice through protection. Lalu expressed concern over the alleged misuse of religion in the present day Indian politics, calling for a collective commitment to protecting the people, akin to Lord Krishna’s endeavors.
Touching on recent developments in Bihar, Lalu praised the historic initiative of providing 75% reservation, noting its significance in the state’s history. He highlighted the importance of empowering marginalized sections and ensuring equal participation in the democratic process.
Commenting on 21,000 Yadavs joining the BJP in Patna, Lalu responded with a taunt, asserting that today, Kansa joined the BJP under the guise of Yadavs.
Taking aim at the BJP- led NDA government at the Centre, Lalu asserted that efforts were being made to undermine the unity of the Yadav community, vowing that such attempts would not succeed. He compared the functioning of Bihar government to Lord Krishna’s rule.
In a direct jab at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lalu questioned the adulation of PM Modi during Govardhan Puja celebrations by BJP members. He compared Modi to a figure reducing Kansa, urging people to rise above political rhetoric and focus on the well-being of society.
Making serious allegations against Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai, he said that earlier he used to slaughter cows and buffaloes and now he says that he made Rabri Devi the Chief Minister. Lalu said that if Rabri had not been made the Chief Minister, would Nityanand’s wife have been made the CM?
