Patna: RJD supremo Lalu Prasad’s health has taken a turn for the worse, necessitating treatment at Delhi AIIMS. He was brought to the hospital on Monday after experiencing difficulties with urination. According to close sources, his visit to AIIMS was initially intended for a routine checkup, which typically lasts two days. Currently, his condition is reported to be stable.
Lalu underwent a kidney transplant in Singapore two years ago, with his daughter Rohini Acharya donating one of her kidneys to him. The surgery significantly improved his health, and he has since been able to actively participate in various public and political events. Despite the improvements, Lalu still has to follow strict medical guidelines post-transplant.
Aside from his kidney condition, Lalu has been battling several other health issues. His recent admission to AIIMS has raised concerns among his supporters and the political community. However, sources close to him assure that his current hospital stay is part of his regular health monitoring routine.
Lalu continues to be an influential figure in Indian politics, often making headlines with his social media activity and outspoken statements. Recently, he criticized Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for failing to secure special state status for Bihar, a promise that Kumar had made but was later declined by the Center.
