Lighting Up Patna: Municipal Corporation’s Strategic Plan for a Luminous Diwali and Chhath
PATNA: As Diwali and Chhath approach, the Patna Municipal Corporation is undertaking a robust project to light up the city. Streets in all wards will soon be adorned with vibrant lights, while high mast lights will illuminate major crossroads and intersections.
The Municipal Corporation has diligently worked on this initiative, pinpointing 30 key intersections for the installation of high mast lights. Foundation groundwork for these installations has been completed at 16 locations, with a comprehensive plan in place for the initial phase encompassing 30 major sites.
The first phase includes iconic landmarks such as the Planetarium, Kargil Chowk, Rajapur Bridge, Sahdev Mahato Marg, LCT Ghat, Bans Ghat, Digha Patipul Ghat, Patliputra, Golambar, Patna Women’s College, Bikaner Sweets (Sahdev Mahato Marg), Sardar Patel Golambar Gate No. 4, Digha Vegetable Market, McDowell Golambar, and Dinkar Golambar, among several others.
Additionally, the city’s wards are undergoing a transformation with the installation of new street lights. Around 25 teams, directed by the Municipal Commissioner, are actively engaged in this effort. Daily reports meticulously track the progress of these lighting installations.
The comprehensive endeavor by the Patna Municipal Corporation aims to enhance the city’s visibility and ensure a radiant celebration during the upcoming festive occasions of Diwali and Chhath.
