Lok Sabha Results: Nitish Kumar’s Dominance Evident as BJP Slips and Lalu’s Influence Surges in Bihar
Patna: Counting is underway for 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar, and Nitish Kumar’s dominance remains evident. The BJP appears to be losing some seats, while Lalu Yadav’s influence is also noticeable. The JDU is leading on 15 seats, the BJP on 13, Chirag Paswan’s party on 5, the RJD on 3, the Left Party on 2, and the Congress on 1 seat.
This election features the children of prominent Bihar leaders contesting six Lok Sabha seats. Lalu Prasad Yadav’s elder daughter, Misa Bharti, is consistently leading in Patliputra. Similarly, Bihar government minister Ashok Chaudhary’s daughter, Shambhavi Chaudhary, is ahead in Samastipur. However, other high-profile candidates such as Lalu’s daughter Rohini, Meera Kumar’s son Anshul Abhijeet, Akhilesh’s son Akash, and Maheshwar Hazari’s son Sunny Hazari are trailing in their respective races.
In other key contests, JDU’s Santosh Kushwaha is leading in Purnia, and Giriraj Singh is ahead in Begusarai. Meanwhile, RK Singh is trailing in Ara, and Nityanand Rai has taken the lead in Ujiarpur. Misa Bharti continues to lead in Patliputra.
Jitan Ram Manjhi is leading in Gaya, while in Karakat, Rajaram Singh of CPI(ML) is ahead, leaving Pawan Singh trailing. Dulal Chand Goswami is leading in Katihar. RJD candidate Abhay Kushwaha is ahead in Aurangabad, and Siwan is witnessing a close contest between Hina Shahab and the JDU candidate.
