Lord Ram’s Wedding Anniversary: Mahavir Temple in Patna Set for a Magnificent Celebration
PATNA – Vivah Panchami, the celebration of Lord Shri Ram’s wedding, is set to be observed on December 17th. The procession of Lord Ram will be a central event on this auspicious day, with Mahavir Temple in Patna making special arrangements for the occasion.
Acharya Kishore Kunal, Secretary of Mahavir Temple Trust, emphasized the significance of the day, noting that Lord Ram’s marriage to Mother Sita occurred on the Shukla Paksha Panchami date of the Aghan month.
Acharya Kunal shared that Sita Rasoi, operational for the past six years at Punaura Dham in Sitamarhi, is undergoing additional developments in anticipation of the construction of Janaki’s birthplace temple. The newly constructed building, kitchen, and hall will be inaugurated, marking a momentous occasion. The Vivah Panchami celebration will be particularly highlighted at the Mahavir Temple in Sitamarhi.
Special decorations and elaborate adornments for the Lord are underway at the Mahavir Temple. The two-day program for Vivah Panchami includes the ritualistic marriage of Lord Ram and Sita on the first day, followed by Ram Kaleva and a farewell ceremony on the second day. Notably, artists from Mithila will grace the event, staging a play to commemorate the occasion. The festivities will also feature arrangements for food and drinks, offering special items such as halwa, puri, pakoda, and tasmai. A tableau depicting the marriage of Ram and Sita will be prominently displayed during the celebration.
