MADHUBANI: Former poll strategist and Jan Suraj campaign convenor, Prashant Kishor, has raised a critical question regarding the teacher appointment process in Bihar. Speaking during a press conference in Basopatti, Madhubani district, Kishor expressed profound concerns about the future of education in the state.
During his address, Kishor emphasized the potential scenario where Bihar’s children might seek employment in other states, burdened with the weight of underachievement. He articulated, “Bihar’s children may go to other states, working in labor-class jobs, while children from Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh come here to teach us. Bihar, once a hub of global education, is now grappling with illiteracy under Nitish Kumar’s rule.”
Kishor criticized the decline in Bihar’s educational standards under Nitish Kumar’s leadership, highlighting the state’s shift from attracting global scholars to a concerning trend of declining literacy.
Specifically targeting the policies of the current administration, Kishor pointed out discrepancies in the government’s claim of issuing 125,000 appointment letters. He questioned the authenticity of these appointments, citing concerns about potential reappointments and the influx of individuals from outside Bihar.
Calling for transparency, Kishor urged the government to provide a clear breakdown of the 125,000 appointments, distinguishing between new recruits, native Biharis, and those from other states. He stressed the necessity for the government to address appointment disparities, ensuring fairness and clarity in the state’s employment policies.
