Legal Action Initiated Against Train Vandals at Madhubani Railway Station, One Arrested

Patna: A suspect has been arrested in connection with the vandalism of train number 12561 Swatantrata Senani Express at Madhubani railway station in Bihar’s Samastipur division, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) said.

On February 10, a group of unidentified individuals damaged the doors and windows of the train after finding them locked from the inside. Taking the incident seriously, the railway authorities launched an investigation and registered a case under various sections of the Railway Act at the RPF post in Darbhanga.

A special team of RPF was constituted to identify the culprits. During enquiry by the special team, information was gathered from sources and through technical evidence resulting in identification and arrest of a juvenile, who was found to be involved in the incident. He has confessed his involvement in the incident and expressed remorse. The enquiry into the case is actively under progress to identify and apprehend other individuals involved in other similar incidents of vandalism.

In response to the incident, the Railway Administration is enhancing security measures in collaboration with the Bihar government, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), and the railway police.

Passengers have been urged to cooperate in protecting railway property and report any security concerns to station authorities or helpline services. The Railway Administration has also reminded travellers to board the correct class of coach as per their ticket to prevent disputes and ensure a hassle-free journey during the ongoing Maha Kumbh at Prayagraj.
