Man Severely Injured After Alleged Attempted Sexual Assault in Muzaffarpur; Woman Acts in Self-Defence

In Bihar’s Muzaffarpur, woman injures man’s private part while resisting rape attempt linked to loan dispute.

Muzaffarpur: A woman in the district reportedly injured a man who was allegedly attempting to sexually assault her, by cutting his genitals with a kitchen tool in an act of self-defence. The incident occurred in a village under the jurisdiction of the Paru police station on Wednesday evening. According to local sources, the 35-year-old man entered the woman’s house under the pretext of asking her to return money he had previously lent to her. The two are said to be neighbours.

Once inside, the man allegedly attempted to force himself on the woman despite her repeated refusals. In a desperate attempt to protect herself, the woman reportedly grabbed a vegetable grater that was within reach and used it to inflict injuries on his private parts. The man was found bleeding and screaming by local residents, who rushed him to the community health centre in Paru. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later referred to a higher medical facility for further treatment.

Paru SHO (Station House Officer) Monu Kumar told reporters that no formal complaint has yet been filed in the case. “Further action will be taken once an application is received,” he said.
The incident has sparked conversation in the area about women’s safety and the challenges survivors face when reporting sexual assault.
