Patna: Bihar-based YouTuber and BJP leader Manish Kashyap has made a dramatic public statement following a violent incident at Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH), where he was allegedly beaten by a group of doctors. In his first response since the assault, Kashyap said, “It would have been better if they had killed me. They humiliated me.” He further added that he now plans to “go out wearing a shroud,” suggesting a symbolic death or a fight against the injustice he claims to have faced.
The altercation occurred earlier this week when Kashyap visited PMCH to advocate for the treatment of a young patient from Raxaul. According to him, the conflict began when he referred to a female doctor as “sister,” which she took offense to, insisting on being addressed as “doctor.” Kashyap alleges that within minutes, over 100 individuals gathered and physically assaulted him outside the superintendent’s chamber.
The BJP leader also rejected allegations of molestation made against him by the female doctor, claiming such accusations are often misused. “In Bihar, if you want to destroy someone, you use the woman card. Half the molestation cases are false,” he said.
Kashyap expressed rare praise for the Bihar Police, acknowledging their intervention may have saved his life. However, he also criticized their limitations, saying, “The police works under someone. They follow the orders of the state government.”
The incident has stirred political tension, with Kashyap hinting at resigning from the BJP. “Last time I made a mistake. This time I won’t. I’ll sit with my people and decide. Whatever they say, I will do.”
Former Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey weighed in sarcastically, saying the doctors who beat Kashyap should be awarded the “Param Vir Chakra.”
The PMCH incident has raised serious questions about hospital security, political interference, and the broader issue of mob violence. Kashyap’s comments and the video of the assault have gone viral, further fuelling public debate.
