Markets Abuzz with Dhanteras Festival Celebrations Today

Dhanteras

Patna:  The auspicious festival of Dhanteras is all set to grace the calendar today, observed on the Krishna Paksha date of Kartik month. Dhanteras is a day dedicated to the worship of Kuber, the god of wealth. A noted Pandit, citing astrological almanacs, has confirmed that Dhanteras will fall on November 10 this year due to Vyapini Trayodashi coinciding with the Pradosh period and night.

The festival day aligns with the formation of Amrit Yoga in Hasta Nakshatra, providing a favorable time for shopping and worship from 7:07 am to 2:35 pm. According to the Pandit, the most propitious Muhurat for Dhanteras is between 5:30 pm and 7:27 pm during Sandhya Pradosh Kaal.

Dhanteras holds special significance for those seeking to invest in gold and silver, with the belief that it brings wealth and prosperity. Acts of charity on this occasion are also said to yield auspicious results.

The Pandit recommends acquiring “Panch Dravya” at an auspicious time on Dhanteras, as it is believed to multiply one’s wealth by thirteen times. Among the items suggested for purchase are Lakshmi Ganesh idols, cowrie shells, lotus flowers, coriander seeds, turmeric lumps, earthen utensils, gold, silver, brass, copper, steel, Ashtadhatu utensils, clothing, decorative items, land, buildings, vehicles, and electronic goods.

Given the anticipated rush in the markets, Patna traffic police have issued a traffic plan on Friday.

According to the plan, there will be a complete ban on the plying of vehicles from Bakarganj Mor to Bari Path from 8 am to late night. Vehicles on this route will be diverted to Ramgulam Chowk, Exhibition Road. Vehicles from Baripath towards Purbi Bakarganj will be diverted from Machhua Toli to Dinkar Golamber via Nala Road, Bhattacharya Road and Gandhi Maidan.
