Mega Placement Drive 2025 Kicks Off in Patna to Offer Over 2,000 Job Opportunities

Patna: The “Mega Placement Drive 2025” was inaugurated at the Government Industrial Training Institute, Dighaghat, Patna, by the Labor Resources Department of the Government of Bihar in collaboration with Tata Technologies. The event saw participation from Santosh Kumar Singh, Minister of Labor Resources, and Ram Kripal Yadav, former MP of Pataliputra Lok Sabha. As part of the drive, the Royal In Field Training Center was also inaugurated, and certificates were distributed to KYP learners.

During the inauguration, Minister Santosh Kumar Singh emphasized the significance of the initiative in providing employment opportunities to youth trained in technical skills. He stated that the drive reflects the government’s commitment to connecting the youth of Bihar with meaningful employment. The minister highlighted that efforts are ongoing to reduce unemployment and that the presence of prestigious companies at the event is a testament to this dedication.

The minister shared that during his tenure, 44,000 youths have already secured employment through various job fairs. He pledged that efforts would continue, with a goal of linking 1 lakh youth in Bihar with employment and self-employment opportunities in the coming years. He called for collective participation in achieving this target.

The Digha ITI, established in 1948, is among the oldest technical institutes in the state. With support from Tata Technologies, the institute is now equipped with advanced technical skills. The minister noted that the modern skills provided here would empower the youth, paving the way for both employment and self-employment, and contribute to the vision of a skilled and prosperous Bihar.

Training programs in 23 trades are currently being offered at the institute. Additionally, courses under the PM Vishwakarma Yojana, PM Surya Yojana, and Strive Yojana are available to further enhance the technical workforce in the state. The minister urged companies to ensure fair wages for Bihar’s hardworking and skilled youth. He also emphasized the need for cooperation between Tata Technologies, employers, and ITIs, highlighting the importance of “emotion, relation, and promotion” to maximize employment possibilities.

The event saw participation from several dignitaries, including Shyam Bihari Meena, Director of Planning and Training, Vikas Chandra, Deputy Director-cum-Principal of the Industrial Training Institute, Dighaghat, and Vishwa Ranjan Kumar, a representative from Royal In Field. Shailendra Ojha, Private Secretary to the Minister, and Manish Kumar, a regional representative of Tata Technologies, were also present alongside senior officials and representatives of various companies.

The Mega Placement Drive 2025 will run until 21 January 2025. It offers over 2,000 job and apprenticeship opportunities for ITI graduates from technical trades across Bihar. This initiative is expected to significantly contribute to the employment landscape of the state, bringing new prospects to its youth.
