Patna: The southwest monsoon has now fully covered Bihar, just two days after it first entered the state. According to the latest report on June 19 , the monsoon arrived on June 17 and quickly spread across all districts. Weather officials say rain is likely to continue across the state for the next two days.
The path of the monsoon, called the Northern Limit of Monsoon (NLM), is currently passing through several Indian cities such as Barmer, Jodhpur, Jaipur, and Gwalior before reaching areas like Ballia and further east. This shows that the rain system is spreading steadily across the northern part of India.
Many places in Bihar received heavy rain on June 19. In Gaya district, Imamganj recorded 130.2 mm of rain, Dhobi got 112.6 mm, and Banke Bazar saw 96.2 mm. Bodhgaya, a famous religious town, received 94.4 mm of rainfall. Other towns such as Manpur, Sherghati, and Gurua also saw significant rainfall.
In Nawada district, Kauakol recorded 120 mm of rain, and Akbarpur got 111 mm. Officials have said that the rain will help farmers, but they are also watching flood-prone areas closely. People are advised to stay safe, especially in low-lying regions, as more rain is expected soon.
