Muzaffarpur: A 16-year-old student, Saurabh Kumar, was beaten to death at Turki High School following a dispute with intermediate students. The incident reportedly escalated into a violent confrontation, during which Saurabh was assaulted with kicks, punches, and sticks. Witnesses say he fell unconscious during the attack.

Saurabh was immediately rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. Preliminary reports indicate that he died from a brain haemorrhage. His body has been sent to Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH) for a postmortem examination.

A video circulating on social media captures the harrowing scene, showing several students attacking Saurabh in a classroom.

Saurabh’s uncle, Abodh Ram, expressed outrage, stating, “Four students beat Saurabh with sticks. After his head was broken, one of the other students informed the villagers. The teacher did not intervene or stop the fight. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he could not be saved.”

According to Rural Superintendent of Police Vidya Sagar, the confrontation arose from a classroom dispute. “During the altercation, a youth from the opposing group struck Saurabh on the head with a bamboo stick,” he explained. Following the incident, police arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation.

Both parties have filed FIRs regarding the incident. The police have arrested one suspect, who is currently being questioned, and further actions will be determined pending the investigation’s outcome.
