Namo Bharat Rapid Rail to Begin Operations Between Patna and Madhubani with Ultra-Modern Amenities

Patna: In a major boost to regional rail connectivity, the Namo Bharat Rapid Rail service—equipped with world-class amenities and modern technology—is set to begin operations between Jaynagar in Madhubvani and Patna via Darbhanga, Samastipur, Barauni, and Mokama, enhancing passenger convenience across northern Bihar.
The service will commence with a special inaugural run on Thursday, operating as Train No. 05597, departing Jaynagar at 11.40 am and arriving at Patna Junction at 6.30 pm. Regular operations will begin from April 25, with Train Nos. 94803/94804 running six days a week (except Saturday from Patna and Sunday from Jaynagar).
The 94803 Jaynagar–Patna Namo Bharat Rapid Rail will depart Jaynagar at 5.00 am, stopping at Madhubani, Sakri, Darbhanga, Samastipur, Barauni, Mokama, and Barh, before reaching Patna Junction at 10.30 am. The return service, 94804, will leave Patna at 6.05 pm, reaching Jaynagar at 11.45 pm after covering the same stations.
To accommodate the introduction of this high-speed corridor, the arrival and departure timings of several existing trains have been revised:
- 15502 Jogbani–Raxaul Express will now arrive/depart from Darbhanga at 06.50/07.20 hrs from April 25.
- 13185 Sealdah–Jaynagar Ganga Sagar Express will arrive/depart at Darbhanga at 06.37/06.52 hrs from April 26.
- 15910 Lalgarh–Dibrugarh Avadh Assam Express will reach Barauni at 08.55/09.05 hrs.
- 63222 Patna–Mokama MEMU will now leave Patna at 6.15 pm.
- 15271 Howrah–Muzaffarpur Jansadharan Express, 15233 Kolkata–Darbhanga Express, and 15235 Howrah–Darbhanga Express will see revised timings at Barauni, Samastipur, Muzaffarpur, and Darbhanga.
The Namo Bharat Rapid Rail is part of Indian Railways’ broader push to bring premium-like rail services to regional passengers at affordable fares. With improved speed, comfort, and reliability, the new service is expected to benefit thousands of daily commuters across Bihar.
