Naxalites Set Fire to Construction Machine in Aurangabad, Panic in the Area
Aurangabad: Naxalites attacked a check dam construction site on Gidha Nala in Aurangabad district, setting fire to a Poklane machine used in the project. The dam was being built by the Forest Department in South Umga Panchayat of Madanpur block. The attack, which took place on Tuesday night, has created panic in the area. Despite the seriousness of the incident, the police have not yet given any official statement.
Local sources say that the Naxalite group was against the construction and had previously warned workers to stop. When work continued, they attacked the site late at night and set the machine on fire. Flames were visible for hours, further adding to the fear among residents.
Even after several hours, police had not reached the spot, raising concerns among the locals. Villagers believe that such incidents are obstructing development work in the area and boosting the confidence of Naxalites due to administrative inaction.
The check dam was seen as a crucial water conservation project, but Naxalite activities have now brought the construction to a halt. Local residents have urged the administration to tighten security and ensure that the work is completed without further disruptions. Many fear that if strong measures are not taken soon, the influence of Naxalites in the region could grow further.
