Darbhanga: Leaders of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), including the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), gathered in Darbhanga on Sunday for a joint workers’ conference, displaying a united front ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. Addressing thousands of party workers, NDA leaders hailed the governance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, calling their leadership the “best political pair.” They pledged unity and asserted their confidence in securing victory.
The conference, held at Karpoori Medical Ground in Laheriasarai, was inaugurated by BJP Bihar president and Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Dr Dilip Jaiswal, along with Janata Dal (United) state president Umesh Singh Kushwaha, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) state president Raju Tiwari, Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) state president Anil Singh, and Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) state president Madan Chaudhary.
Workers from various constituencies stood together, vowing to remain united and form the next government under Nitish Kumar’s leadership.

Addressing the gathering, BJP state president Dr Dilip Jaiswal described party workers as the backbone of the NDA. He highlighted the enthusiasm seen in NDA conferences held across different districts, calling it a sign of electoral success.
He claimed that Bihar’s development model had gained national recognition and that voters in Delhi had endorsed the “double-engine” government—a reference to the same party being in power at both the Centre and the state. “The Modi-Nitish pair is steering Bihar toward progress in every sector,” he said.
Jaiswal also framed the NDA alliance as one built on “truth and development,” contrasting it with rival alliances that he alleged had collapsed due to self-interest and power struggles.
‘We Have Leadership and an Army of Workers’: JD (U)’s Umesh Kushwaha
JD (U) state president Umesh Singh Kushwaha echoed the confidence of NDA leaders, asserting that the alliance’s strong leadership and motivated cadre would lead them to victory. “Our workers’ energy and dedication are proof that the NDA will win the assembly elections this year,” he said.
LJP (Ram Vilas) Chief Criticises Congress
LJP (Ram Vilas) state president Raju Tiwari took aim at the Congress, calling it a party in decline. “Congress has become a parasite, dragging down those who align with it,” he said, asserting that the NDA had gained the trust of voters in Bihar and across the country.
‘People Remember the Days of Jungle Raj’: HAM’s Anil Singh
HAM state president Anil Singh urged workers to remind young voters of the state’s condition under previous governments. “Whether in Darbhanga or any other part of Bihar, people still recall the days of Jungle Raj, when kidnappings were rampant, and roads and electricity were in shambles,” he said.
‘People Trust the Double-Engine Government’: RLM’s Madan Chaudhary
RLM state president Madan Chaudhary credited the NDA government’s policies for Bihar’s development, pointing to increased central budget allocations. “The focus on Bihar in two consecutive Union budgets is clear for all to see. The NDA, at both state and Centre, has prioritised the welfare of the poor,” he said.
