NDA Workers' Meet Reaches Nalanda, Leaders Vow to Secure 225 Seats in 2025 Bihar Elections

Nalanda: The NDA workers’ conference reached Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s home district, Nalanda, in its fourth phase, drawing a large gathering of party workers. Leaders from the alliance reinforced the message of unity and set an ambitious target of winning 225 out of 243 seats in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. Amidst slogans of “2025 Se 2030, Fir Se Nitish”, NDA leaders urged workers to strengthen their outreach at the grassroots level.

The conference was jointly inaugurated by BJP general secretary Rajesh Verma, state vice-president Siddharth Shambhu, JD(U) state president Umesh Singh Kushwaha, LJP (Ram Vilas) state president Raju Tiwari, HAM (S) state president Anil Singh, and RLMO state president Madan Chaudhary, who collectively emphasized the alliance’s unity.

BJP’s Rajesh Verma asserted that the strength of the party workers is the foundation of NDA’s success. He said that if unity is maintained at the booth level, a decisive victory under Nitish Kumar’s leadership is inevitable. He also took aim at the opposition, claiming that the people of Bihar had moved beyond the rule of the RJD and no longer wanted a return to what he described as “jungle raj”.

Siddharth Shambhu echoed this sentiment, highlighting that NDA was working towards preserving Bihar’s heritage while fostering development. He lauded Nalanda’s legacy as a centre of knowledge and spirituality, asserting that under the NDA government, tourism has grown, creating local employment opportunities.

Taking a swipe at RJD chief Lalu Prasad without naming him, Shambhu accused some political leaders of prioritising family interests over governance. He said the NDA had consistently delivered on its promise of good governance, and Bihar’s voters would reaffirm their support in 2025.

JD(U) state president Umesh Singh Kushwaha credited Nitish Kumar’s leadership for Bihar’s development, particularly in empowering women. He highlighted the government’s initiatives that have helped women secure leadership roles and contribute to various sectors, including agriculture, where Jeevika Didis are now using drones for farming.

LJP (Ram Vilas) state president Raju Tiwari reminded the audience of Nalanda’s historic significance, linking it to Nitish Kumar’s contributions to modern Bihar. He called upon workers to begin preparations for the upcoming elections.

HAM (S) state president Anil Singh spoke about employment generation under the NDA government, contrasting it with the past when “shepherd schools” were promoted. He said today, Bihar is witnessing the establishment of medical and engineering colleges instead.

RLMO state president Madan Chaudhary underscored Nalanda’s revival under Nitish Kumar, pointing to the re-establishment of Nalanda University as a global centre for education.
